These fine bone china vessels were produced exclusively for the Slowly Downward Manufactory. Suitable for the containment of a wide selection of contents (from the obvious tea and coffee through to wine, cider, gin, tequila - they can also be used to house pencils, nails, or ash from the burned remains of old love-letters), these receptacles are decorated with words and flowers.
Absolutely fine when washed by hand or machine, they also shatter beautifully when hurled violently against brick walls whilst one is overcome by uncontrollable anger. Boasting both a handle for ease of holding and an integral base to prevent your contents of choice from falling out, these ‘mugs’ continue a long tradition of clay-based containers that goes back to the Beaker Folk, an immigrant culture who became evident in western Europe between the Neolithic and Bronze Ages.
