Hello! Here is a new print that we have made at the Slowly Downward Manufactory called Ursa Occasus.
Like its sister, Ursa Arborealis, it's a picture that combines a drawing of a tree that I did with a pen (in this case the Oak), an ink experiment that I did in my kitchen using food dye (chromatography) and a creature with pointy teeth (the Bear).
This bear is now terrorising a new generation of innocent young persons by inhabiting the Radiohead Motion Picture House in several cities on the continent of America. It was in Coachella and now it's in Brooklyn. I fear Chicago may be next.
This print is an open edition which means it isn't numbered, (although it is signed by me and my pencil) so theoretically we can keep on printing until we get bored, or someone suggests that we spend our time in a secure location, or perhaps the world will end. In reality, though, we will probably print a few hundred if it looks as if people like the picture.
If you don't already know, 'ursa' is Latin for 'bear', (as in Ursa Minor or Ursa Major which are constellations), and 'occasus' is another Latin word which means a number of things including 'setting', 'end', 'ruin' and 'death'. I chose this word because the chromatography I used in the picture looks kind of like a sunset, but the other meanings are quite cool too.
It seems like I'm some kind of expert of words, but this is an illusion, as I just use the internet to look stuff up, like everyone else. I could go to the library, I guess, but it's late at night so the place is closed. Still, the library is definitely better than the internet. I should go there tomorrow to check that I haven't been lied to by AI or something.
Anyway, I'll stop going on. Here it is; Ursa Occasus.
